- Transfer isobutane fuel between canisters
- Consolidate half empties
- Top off fuel before a trip
- Refill small canisters using a big canister
FlipFuel® transfers isobutane fuel between canisters to help clear out the garage. Gather your growing collection of half empty canisters, consolidate them with FlipFuel, then recycle the empties. Don’t pack a halfie. Top off half empty canisters before a trip so you have peace of mind you won’t run out. Or to save a few bucks, refill small canisters using a big canister.
FlipFuel is made from precision-engineered aluminum alloy with brass fittings. It’s compact and has a trail weight of just 1.25 oz (35 g). Use it at home, take it on your next adventure.
FlipFuel is compatible with isobutane fuel canisters only – MSR, Jetboil, Snow Peak, GSI, Optimus, Primus, plus more.
How to Use
- Weigh your half-empty canisters and divide the weight by the original full weight to determine the percentage full.
- To allow fuel to transfer you need to create a temperature difference between the two canisters. Warm the giving canister by placing it in the sun or next to your body.
- Cool the receiving canister by placing it in a freezer, ice chest, cold stream, snow, or shady area. Give it 5-10 minutes.
- Only use FlipFuel in a well-ventilated area away from open flames. Screw the warm giving canister on the side marked OUT. Screw the cool receiving canister on the side marked IN. Hand tighten only. Stand the assembly on a stable surface with the cool receiving canister on the bottom.
- Open the valve to begin the fuel transfer. Stop to check the weight of the receiving canister as you go. Be careful not to overfill. If you overfill, bleed off some of the fuel by pressing the brass vent button on the end. When the fuel transfer is complete, close the valve and unscrew both canisters from FlipFuel.
