- Light, small, impressively sharp
- Ultralight – 0.34 oz (9.6 g)
- Sandvik 12C27 steel
- Easy opening with round hole
- Textured G-10 scales
Honeybee™ is a little bigger than Bug™ but otherwise has similar features. It’s a better fit for larger hands but also works in small hands. This is a light, serious small knife that’s impressively sharp and excels at all basic cutting tasks. At just 0.34 oz (9.6 g), it’s perfect for ultralighters and EDC.
The blade is made using Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel (57-59 HRC) that holds its own. It’s a modified clip-point, full flat blade with a plain edge grind. The thickness tapers from heal to tip.
The Spyderco trademark round hole on the back of the blade makes it easier to open than knives with a traditional nail nick. A thumb rest on the rear of the blade improves grip. This knife has a classic slip joint where the blade is kept open by a spring with no lock.
The handle has G-10 scales with a textured surface for positive grip. It has an ergonomic shape that fits nicely in hand. And there’s a lanyard hole on the end of the handle, but no pocket clip.
